Hay topper net?

I'm going to get one of these next week, http://www.bigbalebuddyuk.com/. For me personally I feel uneasy about ring feeders with horses, my girl paws when eating and would hate for her to get a leg stuck and with them both being shod the all over nets are not an option for me. I've heard some good things about the bale buddys and i'm pretty excited about no having to worry about wasted hay or stuck legs.

I like the idea of the big bale buddy but what happens when the get 3/4 of the way down? Mine would just climb on top and wee n poo on it!

I thought the same thing in fairness, I've rang tthe company and it does collapse as they eat it, however i figured i'm down twice a day so can roll it down if needs be. God, hope mine don't climb in it, I'll post a pic if they decide to act like mountain goats and climb over it, lol!

After much googling think i may settle for a sheep ring feeder with plastic mesh wrapped round the sides to keep heads and feet out the bars.

I've also decided to use a sheep ring feeder. My friend has also just replaced all her haynets so these will then be cut up and fixed around the feeder (she has a lot of nets lol)

Funny, I have been thinking about trying one of those nets. Our feedstore and Ag Merchants both always advise putting netting inside the bars of any ring feeder for safety.

Mine eat from a standard cattle ring feeder. The bottom is solid so they can't stick a leg in and it is too high for them to get over the top. Just plonk a bale in and away you go, no need for netting or anything else.
