How many small bales of hay do you use per week if your horses are out all day and in at night?

3-4 per week, currently feeding 1 section in the field in the morning and 4-5 sections in stable overnight. This is for an elderly, underweight TBx.

 

[L&M]

For a 14.3hh Sec D, I start off the winter Oct/Nov, on 2 a week, by mid Jan/Feb up to 4 a week. This is based on reasonable grazing and the fact he is a good doer.
