Hayfever tablets

Hi, I am having problems with my horse coughing, itchy running nose, wheezing when lying down and I suspect some sort of pollen/ hayfever allergy. The vet has been out and given ventipulmin for 10days, I am also putting vaseline around my horses nostrils, using beconase spray, put her on winergy ventilate etc I did have her on hayfever tablets but stopped after reading a few people saying they dont work but would like to try them again. What make have people found works best for their horse? I have seen quite a few people say cetirizine but when Ive looked at the packets I am a bit concerned they dont say 'non- drowsy'
Any suggestions greatfully recieved.

I'm not sure tbh but just letting you know that poundland sell a couple of different packs, one of which are non-drowsy. I know these tabs can be expensive as I use them. Or alternatively tesco/asda sell there own brand which are £1 also.
 
I think it can be trial and error as some may work well for different allergies, I have used piriton successfully and dare I say it, one pony that had classic hayfever symptoms was brilliant on a homeopathic hay fever remedy, if he did not get them he sneezed and had runny eyes but was fine if he had a daily dose.
 
Have had a horse who got affected with all the pollen, I would say that they helped her, I also put a nose net on her when I was riding and avoided riding when the pollen count was high, also had her on kof

Had her on kof-eze sometimes I would say its trail and error they work with some horses better than others, we went through lots of different options I used to use a hayfever spray before going riding as well, and at her worst she had a horse inhaler. So would say if they worked then use them again, I used to use piriton.
 
Vet prescribed piriton tablets to mine with hayfever (runny eyes & nose) I found it cheaper to buy the syrup though & just chucked that in his feed. It worked brill xx
 
Hey, I tried all sorts with my boy. Best one - LOCAL HONEY! My sister has it for her hayfever so thought id try it... he loves the honey but my goodness it has helped :-)

He only has his inhaler now when he having an off day with his breathing or if its really hot! Neither which happen very often!!!!
