Haygain 600 users

I had planned on making a steamer on my next week off, but I’ve potentially found a almost new 2nd hand one.
ive never actually seen one for size in real life, we have the 1000 at work so have used one but the 600 says it’s suitable for 3 horses (if I remember correctly)
I want to steam 2 nets but they will be fairly large nets. Will this fit? I only have large bale hay so I think the best option is to steam once netted really.
It’s about an hour away so I can’t go see it really before buying.

I’ve never actually weighed their nets so not sure how much they get. I’m thinking probably not big enough really volume wise.

As far as I know mine is the 600 it easily fits two large nets but I also use large bale flaps and steam it loose as in the net makes the net curly. Filling haynet's with warm hay is such a lovely job much better than dry hay. I would not ponder to long about second hand one because it will be gone in a flash just ask to see it working before handing over the money.

I bought one second hand. I steam hay loose in it - much nicer to fill nets with. I get a decent 2/3 of the small bales I have in and they are big and tight. In winter I do have to steam twice for 3 horses. I love mine and so do the horses.

It’s been for sale a week or so. Friends tagged me in a fb post but with my lorry in the garage I had no way of collecting.
It’s now reduced in price, bloody lorry is still in the garage but almost done.

I can get enough hay to just feed my 16.2 ish adlib 6pm-7am over night. I steam it in a massive net. I couldn't fit two in. When it was snowy I wanted to give him extra - he ate a bit more due to cold and I steamed a 2nd net.

I would say you will only get one large net in it with maybe a small. But I have bought a timer for mine and steam one load whilst doing my yard jobs and then leave one on the timer to come on just before I get back to the yard next. I dont like to leave it over night but I feel setting it to come on 30min or so before I come down is reasonably safe

I tried making a hay steamer myself, but couldn't get it anywhere near hot enough. Someone very kindly gave me help on how they made theirs, but you need a professional wallpaper steamer, which is about £500, so I decided to save up and get the real thing ( or find one secondhand!)

I fit 2 large haynets in mine, takes a bit of squashing down to get the lid closed, but they do fit in. I ummed and rrd before buying mine, but my home made one was so hit and miss - so glad I've got it now & coughing has stopped completely.
