Gosh it looks like they were appointed an administrator yesterday, with the process starting only 8 days before, gosh that's quick. How sad for all concerned.

im not surprised. I contacted them before christmas to get a price on the flooring they do. It was impossible to speak to someone on the phone, so i emailed. I eventually got some information , but no price. Finally got a price through, and for 6 stables it was circa £12k !! That wasnt even a fitted price.

I don’t know about the flooring. The hay steamers weren’t cheap, but they did a proper job and had the research to back it up. Much better product than most of the various cut price wannabees that came out on the back of them.

I got a spare part from them recently, I always found them good to deal with.

It very sad, they are definitely the best that's been in the market historically and I've recommended them countless times over other steamer types.

However, I've always found then the most awful gaslight-y company I've every dealt with. I've had two full bale steamers, and needed 4 new steam plates, countless new spikes, new gas struts on both, had my plug sockets melted twice and the bale holding unit have a huge crack in it over the pair of them. Only one steamer plate was replaced for free. They were both very well taken care off, when I mentioned the plug melting it was 'the first they've ever heard if that happening and change the plug to 16amp' which I did at great cost. A search of twitter eventing shows all the problems I've had are very well known and reported to them frequently I probably spent the price of a third full bake steamer on spare parts over the 9 years I had them.

I also didn't like the way they would not sell spare parts, or even the descaler to people who bought them second hand. Mine were both brought new so never had a problem but other people I know who had them second hand were told they would but sell them anything. Sorry but situations change and people should be entitled to sell products they no longer need on, and people buying those products should be able to get the after care needed.

I hope they are saved, and that whoever takes them on remedies the customer service problems, as they are a great product.

I found them too expensive for my purse and prob others, otherwise I would have bought one, but think people are making cheaper alternatives like with a paint steamer.

I found this. I got mine second hand and it’s been absolutely brilliant but I had a problem with the cap and they didn’t want to know. The product is fantastic and definitely the best on the market but they are prohibitively expensive. I pray mine doesn’t break but if it does I’d have to go onto haylage.

They did a proper job but honestly, that price with no timer on the steamer?

And instructions that tell you not to allow the boiler to boil dry. Why is that even possible? At that price it should switch off automatically when it gets low instead of just sounding a buzzer you might not hear.

Bonkers isn’t it ! No wonder they wouldn’t publish prices on th FB page when people asked .
They called me to ask if I would be placing an order , I explained that at £12k it would be costing more than what my new internal stables would cost . So no thank you .

There are multiple after market timer options for buyers to purchase to use on the boiler, it’s really no great deal. I prefer a simple manual timer, others might want all singing all dancing wi fi connected timers - Alexa turn on the Haygain.

The product is good. I’m still using the original supplied boiler many years in, not boiled it dry yet.

Even in a heatwave Haygain steamed hay is still fine to feed 24 hours after steaming. The cheaper ripoffs and homemade versions do not steam the hay properly, so it goes off much more quickly.

Well obviously they are a good product, however I have found my cheap rip off very good! It steams 3 slices of hay in nets, it has a now rusted up heat gauge on the top which did attain 100C when it was working, it’s wallpaper steamer that runs it has lasted well too. maybe not such quality plastic, but for the money I would say a good deal.

It’s fundamentally a good product with a solid brand, should hopefully be bought up by a bigger operation. Shame for the company though.

Their prices were prohibitively expensive so it’s not a suprise - I am by no means shy about spending cash on my horses but when I called them up about flooring and asked the price I laughed and hung up… if you can’t make your products affordable to those who spend money but aren’t blank cheque people then your business is likely to fail however good the product is and there is the laws of diminishing returns- how much better is their flooring than fitted sealed normal mats or even mayo mattresses ? Not good enough for most to bite the bullet

The products were fabulous and the prices are probably fair for the quality but there is a very limited market who can afford that price tag.

I'd expect someone to buy them, maybe increase the price of the leading products and introduce a budget version.
