We were told by our supplier not to cover especially in the summer but we used to cover the top to stop it getting soaked!
You can use the wrapper its in, just use a knife to cut from top to bottom then all the way round the bale at the bottom and the wrapper comes off easily and can be re used with a couple of bricks on top to stop it blowing away

hi its not outside just need to keep it covered to stop blowing away and also to stop other liveries nicking it!!!!
is the bale tidy for hay bales though, the haylage bale is the big one!!

I have a bale tidy and its excellent for haylage...doesnt sweat and not easy for other to nick it either

I just used to cut it round the bottom, and lift off over the top, use what I want, then slide cover back over (think giant bale..... condom... 
)

I agree about the cost, but have to say it was the best thing I could have got... keeps it all together and stops it all falling apart, while keeping it dry etc
