Anyone got a vague idea on how much a round bale of haylage weighs? The haylage is very dry, akin to hay, which assume will make a difference......

Trying to work out how many bales we can legally tow home on our flat bed.

Depends how tight theyre baled and size of rounds. Between roughly 175-250kg.
For 4x4’s Ive weighed hay off round bales and it was rare to get 200kg off them…at around 25% moisture 4x4’s Packed well.

If you allowed 250kg for higher moisture youd be about right without risk of overloading trailer.
some bales are 5x4 or 5x5…so heavier..

That's great - we had 'guestimated' 300 kg - 350 kg and last years were 5 x 4. 250 kg gives us more to play with but we will still err on the side of caution re towing.

Thanks
