My boy is driving me mad at the minute! He's fed his haylage from a small holed net, and he's recently started pulling it from the net onto the floor to eat it from there. Only problem is he spreads it everywhere and then won't eat it once he's stood on it. It's making mucking out difficult (he's on easibed and the bedding's getting all tangled with the haylage so I'm wasting bedding) and is obviously wasting haylage. I tried putting it in a huge rubber bucket but he just pulls it over and spreads it around again. Haven't tried a haybar but I think he'll just pull it out of one. Any other ideas?

How do you fasten his haynet? Try looping the string back through the closest two bits of net so when hung there is no big gap where you fill the net? Hard to explain.

Maybe try a metal hayrack with small holes. I recently moved house and our new place has these built in so I discovered by accident that they were very useful, tidy and easy to use.

Fit a hay bar put a ring on the wall the height of the top of the hay bar net the hay and tie it up on the ring with the net in the hay bar .
I had exactly this issue and this reduced the mess by 80%.

I know this might sound obvious but do you give the haylage a really good shake up so that its put in the net in strands rather than clumps? When it gets tangled into clumps it gets pulled through the haynet easier resulting on it all over the floor. The horse will only pull through what he can eat in one mouthful at a time. If more is being pulled through I would suggest its because its not shook out sufficiently.

Maybe give him a little less so he hoovers up the bits for you before morning. Will need trial and error though so he has enough to keep him going and then you will just have a few little scraps left.
