Hi,
YO has some large round bales of haylage (more like silage) that is now 2 years old and not very good quality. My Dad has a bunch of cows and could do with some silage, so I suggested that I ask her if she wants to sell any, seeing as they end up burning a load of it and giving the manky bales away to the local farmer for his cows.
I've just asked her and she said she would want £20 per bale plus labour if we need the farmer to help load any of them. Fair enough for the labour, but do you think £20 per bale is a bit steep for 2yr old manky haylage? Or am I really out of touch with prices?
