One of mine has mild COPD & I have been steaming his hay for the past couple of years & just getting small bags when it is too frosty to soak. This year I am thinking of using haylage instead.

3 reasons:
1) I don't & won't be able to have access to a steamer at new yard
2) There were so many days last year when it was too cold to soak hay.
3) If I go the soaking route I will have to source suitable containers to soak in.

The price of horsehage etc is a bit yikes so I wanted to look at buying bigger bales. I have 2 cobs & will be using it for both in the field & possibly keeping the other on hay at night - depends on cost difference. Both mine are cobs so high fibre type would be better.
Any suggestions for suppliers in/will deliver to North Beds? And what size should I be thinking about?

I am beds/bucks borders but we buy from a company called equi-grass.co.uk they come from Banbury way but deliver all over the place. We buy their 100kg bales which do our two for just under a week. It's really lovely stuff and very consistent quality. We were using s local supplier but it was a bit inconsistent in quality, the minimum delivery was massive and they ran out of the smaller bales (45kg) they did have 220kg bales but minimum delivery for us was 8 bales and we couldn't store that much.
