Hi, I'm looking for ideas please!
Daughter's Welsh C had some stiffness through her back (typical Welsh mare with her nose in the air) and whilst we're working on her outline and bringing her head down during work (which is going well), the vet and physio also recommended she has her haylage on the floor in her stable. After just a couple of weeks this has already made a huge difference and she is far looser across her back.
But.... she is eating it all very quickly and then standing getting upset. I think this has been made worse by her two pals moving off the yard and her new neighbours in a different turnout schedule to her.
We have a hay bar, which gets filled and the rest goes on the floor. I'm looking for ideas of how we can give her hay low down as close to floor level as possible, but that will relate her eating somewhat. We don't have a weight issue and don't normally need to think about how much she is getting through, but I just don't want her standing without.
There must be solutions to this.... please share them if you have been in this position or have any bright ideas.
Thank you!
