Just had 20 bags of farm "haylage" delivered. It looks like poor quality hay wrapped in plastic - dry, dusty and has stones in it. Paid £6.75 per bag. Horses won't eat it and I don't blame them. Now I am stuck with 18 bags of it. It is very different quality to the bags I have bought before that they keep for their liveries. Have I got grounds for a refund? Can I ask them to pick them up or do I spend my day off loading them up and driving them over there in my lorry - 1 hour round trip?

Yes you have grounds to return the unopened bags, it’s clearly not fit for purpose. I’d phone them and ask them to collect. Failing that I think it would be worth the trip just to get a refund.
A friend returned a large Heston straw the other day. The supplier collected it from her and refunded her money.

The owner of the big horse I ride had to take a load back to the suppliers last year. They exchanged with no quibble, atleast if you go there you can check for quality, but I agree difficult if wrapped.
