i have a 6yo ish gelding with an embarrassing problem. from the time we start feeding our haylage in autumn til he can get out to graze daily in late spring he has like a stream of brown down his hind leg and tail. his droppings are normal and he is wormed reg.
ok its not life or death but its a nuisance having to wash his rear end daily, plus im sure its not good for him internally. his behaviour or performance have not been affected. he is exercised daily and is fit.
weve tried pro/pre biotics and naf haylage balancer, he is 50% better but not complerely cleared up.
we make our own haylage on our farm and it is very good, think maybe too good for him anyway. have old hunter, 3yo ish, hairy cob and 2 ponies too, hes the only one it affects.
cant feed hay as ill have to move out.
has anyone else got similar problem/ tried any other supplements? thanks.
