I bought 30 bales of large round baled haylage for the field during winter... I will have about 10 bales left over!!!

Will this keep until next winter - or not a good idea incase the birds peck at it? (Thinking of that should i cover it all in tarpaulin?)

Or will it not last that long? Should i sell it and get some more in for next winter?

I started this autumn off with haylage from last year, the bales had had no holes or patches and were covered in a tarp, and they were perfect!

I was told that haylage lasts 18mnths approx so should be fine for next year if the wrap is not disturbed. If outside, just make sure it is protected from birds etc.

I am hoping to have some large bales left too, so when ordering next winters will ask the farmer to move the old bales to the front to be used first.
