Sorry, another haylage question. We made it for the first time this year. I am going to have about 10 big bales left over, will it carry over until next winter? I won't use it in the summer as they won't get through enough. I only want to keep it if it will as nice as it was this year!

In a word - yes! I had a huge amount the first year we made some and was using the very last of it in year 3. Just so long as the wrap doesn't get holes in it from crows etc walking over it.
 
That is great news! I can put a tarp over the stored bales to make sure they don't get holes in, it hasn't happened so far but might be best.

In a word, how many wraps?

I have some from 2011 which is still good and I intend keeping some for next winter -- but then it is nice dry stuff in hard bales with 8 layers of wrap.

If you can exclude the air, grass will stay preserved indefinitely.
 
I don't know! I cut it off with a penknife and its pretty thick, but I don't know how many layers.
