haylege help needed

does anyone here use 200kg haylege in square bales?
if so how long does one last you in winter and how long will it last once opened.

il be feeding 2 ponies who live out 24/7 and wont get any hard feed.

Unless haylage is very dry --ie almost like wrapped hay, it will go off long before you finish a bale.
Some will keep 10 days but most types should be used in under a week.

ok.how long would a bale that size last 2 ponies would you think if its all they are getting other than grass.

I'm not sure if this will help or not.

"Dry" haylage in large round bales (so about 200kg I would say). A bale would last my 3 large-size NF ponies 2 weeks being fed adlib and didn't go off. If it is normal haylage, then I would have thought it wouldn't last much over 10 days before going off.
