I'm just wondering peoples opinions because I currently feed by haynet but know this can be very bad for their backs as it's not natural to tug at their food in that way, so thinking of getting a hay rack.

What are the good/bad points of both? Do hay racks really cut down on wastage and how high should they be mounted? Is a box on the floor better than a rack on the wall?

Thanks peeps

Neither, hay nets are dangerous imo, and hay racks offer an un-natural eating position and allows dust into there lungs far too easily.

Mine all have haybars, so a natural eating position. they are brilliant.

qr- Feed from the floor or large bucket/barrel on floor or a haybar. Haynets/racks are bad for the horses respiratory system and backs!

Ive got homemade haybars.

Thanks teddyt

My boy would soil his hay if it was on the floor, he's a fiend for making it gross, but I think a trip to b&q is on my agenda and I'm going to make him a haybar. He's only a baby so don't want to cause any unnecessary damage.

Can you make them 3 sided? Coz I don't have a corner to stick it in so thinking more of a box design...
