Haynets tied to back of trailer

When towing 2 horses with a boot full. Are you allowed to tie spare haynets to the back of the trailer?

Why would you want to? Imagine all the muck, dust and diesel particulates that it will pick up. Can you hang it inside the trailer if there's no room anywhere else?

Not easily as there will be two horses in the trailer with one haynet each. This would be for when we are there and also coming home.

People do tie them out the back, but I don't like the idea of all the fumes and dirt. I just tie them all in the front; you can put them in an old duvet cover if you don't want them to eat it.

As mentioned, I wouldnt carry them external to the trailer because of dirt, pollution, plus road spray etc, not to mention the number of times I've seen drivers throw lit cigarettes out of vehicles.

Used to see it all the time but definitely less of a thing now. Always seemed a bit yuck

I don’t it’s too dirty out their .
we have bags for them and put them in the front of the trailer .

Many years ago it was the normal thing to do but I don't see if these days. As others have said, there is far too much pollution about. I just put spare hay into old feed sacks and then fill the nets as needed (this is travelling in a lorry but would also work for a trailer).
