it never ceases to amaze me,whilst driving about, just how many people i see who tie haynets to gates with them hanging only inches from the floor.
it really is very dangerous.
The Italians dont know how to tie a haynet, I swear its true! Ive had to teach everyone I know (Italian) on how to do it and WHY-isnt it obvious "why"! Ooofa
yes i drove past a feild yesterday , and there was two hay nets tied to a post and rail fence inches from the ground .. not good is it . why dont people just put it on the ground
mind you with the wind half of it gets blown across the feild,i put mine in huge black tubs and they go in the shelter on the floor
I used to regularly go past a field with a haynet tied to a metal gate. the 'string' that you tie it with was wound round and round then triple knotted. The haynet almost touched the ground when full. Apparently the arab in the fieled had a thing about having it's feet touched too. I ended up putting a note on the gate, never could 'catch' the owner up there.
I would never use a haynet in the field unless i could hang it from a tree or somewhere high up.
What I do is put a black dustbin with a little hole in the bottom for drainage and a large cement block for keeping it upright and just for good measure I tie it too the fence!!!
Only then will i fill it with hay, it takes 3 sections so enough for my monster...
