he arrived!! :D

Sigh he is such a dude indeed, when a horse is that stunning just looking at him is enough. If Rafa Nadal was a horse he would be Rio:cool:

Don't worry about learning too much spanish at the mo just find out the word for handsome - he will know that one.

he certainly is registered as a PRE :) and i have just become a member of BAPSH hes an andalusian, i dont know if anyone knows about spanish breeding horses on here but if anyone does i would be interested to find out about his parents and what they do im completely useless with the internet tbh!!.. found his grandad and his full brother online and they are nice looking horses but i have no idea about spanish breeding tbh!! his brother happens to be for sale as well :o i dont need another and hes up for tripple the amount i payed so i dont think i could afford him anyway :o

Ohh he is stunning! You will need to post loads more piccies of him and keep us updated of his progress :D :D

Re: stable name I like Leggy... what about Allegro? It means (according to online dictonary)

'merry, cheerful, joyful, jolly, mirthful, light-hearted, jovial, sportive
allegro, composition or musical passage played with a brisk or rapid tempo (Music), cheer up, gladden, cheer, make happy'

well his name means (according to google translate) legendary 15 which would make sence as hes part of the legend line :) i just couldnt imagine calling it in the field :o

Wow how lovely is he..??

You must be so proud to have him as yours, he looks amazing.

Make sure u keep us posted with lots of pics I could look at him all day.
Good luck with him xxx

Rio is a fab name (I'm very biased as that's my boys name heehee ;) ) He is very handsome, wish you the best of luck and a very long and happy future with him :)

my mum was visiting her mum in spain and they were walking through the town and mu noticed him stood outside a cafe while his rider was drinking a coffee chatting with the other people there and then the rider hopped off dropped his reins to the floor and just left him in the middle of the high street ground tied while he went to pay for his coffee :o they carried on watching him and watched him as he showed off to some of the people there asking him to spanish walk and piaffe and mum said how lovely he was.. my nan then told her that he was for sale and has been for a while and that she would arrange a viewing from there and thats just how it went :)

What a lovely story. It seems like fate bought you together. He is absolutely stunning. Wishing you lots of happy times with him. x :)

PS - Rio does suit him and is definitely a boys mane - isn't there a footballer called Rio Ferdinand?

Yes, if you have his passport, his breeding should be printed in the book. If not, you can contact the BAPSH registrar who will be able to help you find his geneaology using his name and passport code. You used to be able to find it on www.lgancce.com but I can't find it now.

I tried allbreedpedigree.com but nothing there just for him. What is his sire/dam's name?

Nice horse. Rio means "river" in Spanish and is indeed masculine. Who are his sire and dam? Just a tiny word of advice (and not to dampen your euphoria - i know what it's like!), he may start to be more stallion-y as time goes on and he gets a bit more grub.

Only just seen this post and your grogeous buy. I would call him Rio of Legend.

Hope he's settled and you're enjoying him. Look forward to hearing more about him and your progress together :)

What a lovely boy! how very exciting.

I have a PRE, he is called Hermoso! I imported him as a stallion 2 years ago now :)

Like someone else just said you can geld them older. My boy was gelded at 6 I think he was and as field castration too....done in 5 mins easy peasy. He was HUGE if you know what I mean! but no issues.

Add the BAPSH facebook page if you are on it. We are all very active on it and I have made TONS of friends through the association now.
