My safe sane sensibly cob has turned into a loony

WHY... Until about 3 months ago i would of trusted him with my life but something has happened and i just donn't know what.... Yesterday i had a call to say he had got out of the field. WELL he had crashed through the electric fence and then straight through the main gate smashing ot bits. With the fence wire and stakes wrapped round him he ran out onto the road into the path of a car ( moving slowly ) the witness is not 100% sure if the car knocked him but he fell over a hedge into a garden and rolled down the bank. He then jumped back out of the garden into the road and finally settled in the yard next door. He was SOOOO lucky not to have been killed or caused an accident. Had the vet out to check him over and his back end is all abit sore. This is not the first time he has behaved this way. He suddenly freaks in stable or field (He's had the stable door off ) and turned very spooky to ride and bolshy to handle. Vet says he's in good health, eyes fine, nothing in his routine or lifestyle has changed.

You've posted this already this morning and it's already been discussed

hope that your horse is OK eventually

have you got any results from teh vet yet ?
 
My friends horse did this she had a baby so i had to retrieve horse for her as he was stuck in a field.

Turned out he had, had an epileptic fit!!

Maybe a vet check is a good idea for what caused it!
 
Apart from sore back end the vet can't find anything wrong. He said to give him a month to see if he settles if not maybe have a scan to see if anything wrong with his brain that could cause such drastic changes.
