I am mega excited and nervous yet feel quite scared!

Is this normal when you are getting your very first horse?

My head is in an absolute spin about what I need to sort/buy/arrange.....any advice would be greatly appreciated :) so I don't forget a thing!

He is lush, his name is Gilbert.... and I have sorted where he will be stabled as I know the yard owner, but am going to have a look at the stable today and to start making arrangements about moving him in........I have no idea how I am going to get him there! lol

YAY he is going to be mine :D

Aww. Congratulations! I don't know if its normal or not but I was exactly the same six weeks ago when I bought my very first horse. Such an exciting time for you...enjoy and hope you have lots of fun with Him. :)

Yes that's normal! :D
Congratulations!

My first horse was due to go to a dealer but my dad managed to buy him - when he told me I was hyperventilating and crying with happiness! We only had 3 days to sort everything out though and managed it so you should be fine!

Keep us updated :)

Really made me smile :D

Yes, its very normal, and it doesn't stop with the first; its always exciting.

Don't forget thou, it may not be exciting for him, he may be a little nervous.

How exciting for you!

I know I spent the first week with my first horse oscillating between sheer joy and thinking 'holy h*ll, WHAT have I done - that half tonne of creature with a mind of its own is entirely my responsibility! ARGHHHH!'

I also found that to begin with I was a whole site more nervous riding mine than other peoples. It felt a bit like the safety net had been taken away.

Good luck and enjoy. Nothing quite like sitting on your very first horse after years of riding other peoples :D
