As I had promised to update you all... My new pony finally made it to his new home!
Gypsy is 15, had only been transported anywhere when he was 6 months old and has lived out his whole life with a herd of 50, as a real herd. Horses usually only come in as babies and then never leave. So this is a big change for him!
We tried to transport him via trailer on Sunday, but he wasnt keen on this and tried to jump over the breast bar... Got stuck... And had to be sawn out. Luckily he was unharmed other than a little scratch or two but it was a horrible thing to watch and I started thinking maybe he would never be mine
. Thankfully he travelled 'like a dream' according to the transporter today and on a big box with some company... Phew! Thought you might all like to see some pictures of him in his lovely new home... The isolation field!
I havent rugged him tonight and feel a terrible guilt about it... Despite the fact that he has never worn a rug in his life and as you can see has an ample winter coat. I just thought it would cause more upset than is necessary if he didnt like it and would rather him be a little chilly than stressed out.
Anyway... Here is my boy. H&H Forum... Meet Gypsy
