This is the first day as the temp is milder that his rug hasn't been like a board Instead it has been wet with the slight rain

They are nutters. I live near a common where many horses are kept, and the amount that were lying down and fast asleep, rugged and unrugged.

Both my 2 fuzzies came in tonight with damp muddy rugs & both had been spotted having a kip about lunchtime
They had both nestled on the (empty) hay patches in the paddock, where the snow had already melted from. The rest of the paddocks still had about 2" of snow cover then.
Neither of them will get down indoors & both are booted out at 6am & brought back in about 4pm whatever the weather.

Mind you - its been tipping it down here for the past 2 hours, so am fully expecting mud coloured savages tomorrow afternoon (unless it freezes like it did last night again!)
