I don't get people, I really don't.

Friend said to me yesterday that her mini yorkie pup had got out of bed on Monday (12th which is a public holiday over here and everywhere closed) but couldn't support her weight, legs kept going out from underneath her, falling over etc but didn't actually pass out and asked did I know what had happened (I am not a bloody vet!)

I asked had she not taken dog to vet and she said no, but has an appointment for this morning (not heard how it went yet) I squeaked out that if my dog had been collapsing and unable to support weight I would be straight onto vet for emergency appointment. She said why the rush. I said to her if one of the kids did something like that what would she do? To which she replied take them to A&E and I said well it's the same for the fecking dog!!:mad:

Her answer was that you don't pay NHS but would have to pay through the nose for a vet on the 12th. You don't say! If you're not willing to pay out the bloody money don't get bloody dogs! Arghhhhhhh!:mad:

Poor little yorkie. I thought every dog (and horse) owner knew that they always saved their crises for out of hours, especially bank holidays etc.:p

Poor dog. :( Tink has never had a vet appointment on a day other than weekends/bank holidays, and yes the darling even had a trip to the vets one Twelfth. I'm sure she costs me double!

Having had to suffer an emergency call out on a weekend, I feel her pain - but suffer it I did. Best £75 I ever paid, for peace of mind with the Princess Lil.
