I was about to say, no idea but I'm thinking of front lining the kids. Maybe I will?
I can't use any louse treatments on one of my children, he has cold symptoms without the temperature for a few days following. So not sure I'd try it on a dog.
Funnily enough I was so tempted to try frontline on the girls when they first came to live with us (they were infested and apparently had been for a long time), I decided, that if there was a bad reaction, social services may not be too happy with me. I'm not sure that the proper headlice treatments are any cheaper than the pet ones so I don't think I would bother doing it that way round. We have kept the girls clear now for almost 4 years but I think I would be using dermaline shampoo and a pet spot on if they ever get them again.
