Head Lowering Bits?

But in the grand scheme of things, a HC doesnt really have much poll pressure though, its more of where they sit in the mouth that causes lots of horses to lean on them..damn horse! He cant work out whether to stick his head up and run for the hills or shove it between his knees and bugg3r off.
 
Am sorry, normally a bitting queen but whats a roller bit? Like a cherry roller or copper roller? Am not a fan of single joint bits and they never do them with a double joint.

YEs, like the CS Sport ones. Anything above lowers the head, anything below the bit lifts in theory...

Would you be able to use a Myler combination bit when competing? (Sorry we don't compete so don't know). That works equally on poll, nose and mouth and is meant to be pretty good for strong horses.

Thats him SJ, in a loop ring snaffle (wilkie) I know he has a high head carriage SJ but as long as he is chilled.

Ugh, 'oribble! I darent take him over a ditch because he doesnt even lower his head to look, damn irish thing.
 
I know a lot of people recommend the Myler Combinations as it keeps the horse light in your hands and you need minimal pressure to have control. You can get long and short shank versions, and different mouthpieces including low and high ports. But as I said before don't know if you can use them to compete in or not, as that isn't something which we do.
