Anyone had any experience with a head shaker? My boy is undergoing trails as a suspected head shaker with vet.

How does this affect you? Does anyone compete a head shaker???

Have you found it has worsened with time? And what do you find the most effective treatment is? I know each horse is different, just brain picking!! Thanks

Yes big cob is, he wears a nose net march to Nov and a riding cashel eye mask all year on bright days. We compete and just take off eye mask for dressage rules. It is mainly under control although can still be a pain in the summer and fast work and wooded areas make it worse. Generally though don't find it affects us too much :-)

Mine started this year in March had got progressively worse. I wish mine was as controlable as valegro's so I could get round an elementary test again. Mine even does it when at a gallop ont he xc. Had all the tests medicine trials. Nerve blocks on the face made her sound. Unforunatley i've had to take loss of use on my horse. She is ok to be hacked out in a full face mask but I could never compete again even iwth a dispensation to wear the mask for dressage she's just to bad while in excerise.
