Hi - advice please!!!! My TB x ID has started snatching her head and it is driving me mad!! She is 7 years old and was off lame for the first 5 months of the year. She is hacked at the minute to get some weight down and i have access to a school to get some schooling done. She is in a jointed snaffle and her teeth were done last month and were fine - suggestions please

Jointed snaffles can dig into the roof of the mouth when you take a contact, double jointed bits are much more comfortable so i would try that as a first thing.

Secondly i would check your saddle fit and then also could you be part of the problem? I mean as a rider are you balanced, indepenant of the reins, etc

If shes been out of work it will take time for her to gain strength and carry herself. if she leans at all or is on her forehand then she may start snatching if your contact is too much as a result.

Thanks, my saddle fits fine i have faults believe me but none so severe that i think it could cause a problem!! I have got lessons planned though. I have a french link in the tackroom, ill give that a go
