My new horse loves his jumping so much, he's very keen!

On the approach to a fence, he throws his head in the air so much I lose control in the last 4/5 strides bevause he's throwing his head in the air.. This isn't detrimental to our performance, I just have to make sure my nose isn't in the line of squishing!

Do/Did any of your horses do this? And if so, how did you get over it?

My new horse did it with everything ,her basic schooling had been missed.I have stopped jumping until her schooling improved and things have changed so much Im ready to try her again. She used to evade bit does your horse school well.

He's just as excited - he just bounces, straight but lauching himself into it with his head as high!

I couldn't trot into fences today - he hadn't been jumped for weeks, but he's always mental in canter..

He's schooling brilliantly - i'm really pleased with how he's coming along, really stretching for the bit, but when he's really excitied, his head goes straight up x

Agree with amy may grid work might really help him and like me you will have to keep soft hands.Any pressure makes this type of horse worse.Mine just shortens bounces on spot and sticks nose in the air with harsh hands not easy are they good luck
