Head Torches!!

I don't like the Lumilight one It's bright if you put it on in the house/building, but I don't think that bright for in the field at night. I don't like the side light either or the band, and I didn't find the buttons easy to press/differentiate when leading horses in. For me the best one is one I got from Amazon that has 3 torches at the front. You can put 1 2 or3 of the lights on and it's very bright. It also sits central on your forehead and has 1 button so no danger of pressing the wrong one and turning off.

I think that’s the one I have, or very similar. It’s brilliant. I can poo pick fields in the dark with it!

Lumilights are definitely better indoors and at close quarters. If you want distance light then a different type is needed with a more concentrated beam.

I actually use a chest torch from
decathlon a fair bit. It is for running primarily but it’s v handy for yard stuff too
I also have a lumilight style head torch and like it too, but I find the chest torch handy for casting a light across a broader area

A chest torch sounds a great idea - moths and bugs will surely be a lot less annoying at chest level rather than face level!

I'm an Ultra runner and have done races that involve running through the night, I have Fenix and Petzl headtorches, both are great.
Not too heavy and long battery life.

I like the wave on/off feature, saves you having to remove gloves to turn it on.

This seems like a good idea.
It's annoying to talk to somebody who is wearing a lit head torch and instinctively turns to look you in the face.

That's where the wave on/off feature is handy, instantly turn the light off by waving your hand in front of the sensor, stops you blinding people.
