Meg is currently in a ‘small pony’ field safe headcollar but we had to knot the top as even that is too big.

‘Pony’ size swamps her.

I want to buy her some new headcollars- a field safe one and a general one.
Is it foal size we will need then? Or mini Shetland?

Have a look at the Dinky Rugs website. They do headcollars for tiny ponies and foals so there should be something that will fit.
Seconding this recommendation. I have a field safe Dinky Rugs headcollar for one of my section As who's built finely, can't remember the size, but they do a good range of smaller sizes.

Thanks all. I had a look on Dinky rugs website and assume I would need a medium headcollar (it says from 38” to 12hh), does that sound about right?

Before she arrived I ordered her a lovely spotty raspberry headcollar in pony-size (my previous section a was pony size) but it swamps her.
She is tiny.

I’ll get some updated pictures of her today. She is just too cute for words 🥰

Not necessarily! 😂

I just looked back through my emails and twice I've ordered the safety headcollar, both times in S, and twice the leather headcollar, both times in M. I have two section As, one is very fine and far too small for 'small pony' headcollars in standard tack shops, the other is a bit chunkier.

I can't remember if they have different size guidelines on the website for the two different headcollars (I won't go and check as I really need to put my phone down and get on with poo picking!) but for the field safety, I'd definitely suggest the S. Maybe size up on the leather one? I'm not sure what their returns policy is if you wanted to try a couple of different sizes.

Photo as requested. It doesn’t do justice to how tiny she is because she’s in the small pony stable.
We think she’s a Carnaddau pony. She is almost identical in colour, size and looks to a few of these ponies that a local charity has. That would explain why she is so much smaller than other section A’s.
