headcollars and turn out

Also use fieldsafe .Need headcollars on to put fly fringes on.I find the fringes that don't need headcollars don't stay on mine
 
NEVER turn out in an ordinary nylon headcollar. If for whatever reason you can't use a fieldsafe, use a cheap leather one.
 
I don't turn Milly out in one any more for a few reasons. Firstly My best friend/YO takes her lovely new Mercedes 4X4 into the field with a trailer to poo pick, and Milly decided to scratch her head on it and made MASSIVE scratch march on the bonnet. She was most unpopular!
2ndly she will only be caught by me/my instrcutor and YO and I worry that with a head collar on a thief would be more likely to grab her -without one she would be very tricky for a stranger. silly i know but i'm a stresshead about that. And thirdly safety - although the fieldsafe ones are fab so would use one of those if i was going to use one at all.

Neither. Unless they're a bugger to catch, then I can't see why you would.
