Some people just make you need a rant!!
Just talking to someone i know from back in school who has a few horses with their OH (the more horsey of the 2)
They've got an old mare going on 20, she's getting too stiff to ride so want to put it in foal! Poor thing
Told them it could kill her or the foal, and that it will put more stress on her sore joints. They're not the sort to listen though
I had to seriously bite my tongue when a reputable breeder was saying they had to put their mare down and wean her foal very early because they wanted one more foal out of her even though she had terrible arthritis. In the end she struggled through the late pregnany and had to struggle to her feet when she wanted to feed her foal, but after a couple of months she got so bad she had to be put down. Why are people so stupid??? Plus she was only 'middle aged' so why breed from a horse that is crippled with arthritis at a fairly young age?
The world has made me sad and angry today ...
