Heads Up... Lidl has horse stuff!

I can't wait :) I have already decided to lunge her tomorrow morning early so I am finished quickly so I can pop to Lidl before work.....I am really that sad!! What would I do with myself if I didn't have a horse!

Looking at the pics is making me chuckle! The bandages have clearly been out on by somebody with no knowledge of how to bandage a horse's legs, and if you look closely I think the front travel 'gaiters' are on upside down!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping so. I bought the champion fleece rug last time, which is 135cm, and it was a bit too small for my coblet, and he's about 6'3 in rugs, so fingers crossed the extra 20cm will be big enough :)

Charlimouse - I thought the same about the gaiters, hehehe

:O i cant decided between the brown or blue! so wanted to get last set but then never got round to going to lidl so this time i will send my sister! ahah

If you mean the brown fleece set, if you miss it, pm me coz I've got one from last time!! Forgot to return it lol

I would get there early guys. The stuff goes really fast. I sent my Dad last time & he was traumatised by the 'crazy bargain horse shoppers!' :D

Well I hope you got there early as I don't think they had masses of stuff to start with.

Got all my bits though, Harry's colour is now officially red :D

Our Lidl is so far away :( If anyone gets any bandages and don't like them feel free to let me know, bandages are my knew thing that I must collect in as many colours as poss!

I got up late so couldnt go before work! Hopefully there will still be some when my lunchbreak is, at 12.30

Fingers crossed for me!

i wondered when i saw the pics the other day :D

Oooo, bargainous!!! But I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE RUGS, I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE RUGS!!!

I love how Lidl which is a cheap and cheerful store can actually be arsed to take pictures of stock on real horses and in stable settings (all be it upside down) when Robinsons which is a specialist horse store can't even be arsed with that most of the time unless the pictures sent to them by the supplier

Aren't these just rip-off HV polo gear? A few people at my yard have the fleece & numner, they seem to be something you buy thinking it's a great saving but there a waste of money. The fleece comes with just a chest strap and even with a surcingle it still madly slips around etc.

i have just been as as i live in the middle of Birmingham surprisingly there were loads of stock left! :D
However they didnt seem to stock the lunge lines which i wanted.

I bought 3 summer sheets as at that price you cant say no.

The fly rug is actually a cooler rug so i picked one up in black.

Mine only had 2 left, which was great for me :D I was hoping to get some red bandages but they only have one pack of beige or white, so I went with beige lol. Yeah, fly rug is cooler rug but I needed one of those for shows, so brill

Meh - i went this morning and spent far to much!
I did get -
4 saddlepads
3 sets of bandages
3 sets of travel boots
6 summer sheets
3 coolers
and a lunge line.......

I did have to laught when a lady whispered to her friend 'i think that girl has a horse'....

Why is it yuck?

In this day and age, with the cost of living going through the roof, surely bargains are the best to be had?

Your horse certainly doesn't care if it's wearing a numnah made by Stubben or made by a random bod in Switzerland. As long as it's comfy, who the hell cares?

How I loathe and detest this snobbery that seems to be abound these days. People should be grateful that they CAN save a few pennies here and there. It's not penny pinching, it's being sensible.

I wanted the lungeline/s too but I dont think they did them

I did however get the brown saddle pad! and actually the quality is quite good, the pattern is a bit crappy though but I'm sure Horse won't mind hehe

Oh I agree, I love a good bargain! :D

I think it is a left one on a right leg!! and my foot, the bandaging! I could do a better job and I am rubbish at it!! (or I wouldn't bother - which i don't!).

For anyone in the Edinburgh area Lidl Sighthill has piles left. There's obviously been a lot sold but apart from the bandages of which there were only 2 sets left after I'd got mine, everything else was in good supply, if mostly brown.

Just got home with my fleece and matching bandages, and a nice blue saddle cloth.

For just less than £11 in total, you can't really grumble....and you can NEVER have enough fleecy rugs! My mares old one has just 'died' this last week!
