Headshaker, face mask and Pony Club

Hi. My pony suffers with headshaking. We have been under vet review including CT scan. She is affected by bright sunlight and has an uncontrollable fear of flies. She is much better wearing a nose net and face mask (currently equilibrium ride on face mask).

The British Show Jumping and British Dressage permitted the face mask with a vets note. British Riding Club allows without a vets note for dressage, SJ and XC.

Pony Club doesn't seem to allow use of face mask for any competitions. We are only completing at low level.

Anyone been able to obtain permission from Pony Club for face mask to be worn for dressage and SJ. My vet will provide a letter if needed

You cannot jump in a face mask only on the flat for BE. I got dispensation through PC to wear one under the same proviso that BE runs under. My horse had uvititis so I had a protective eye mask and would take it off just before I jumped or did my dressage test. I think you can BS in one but I haven’t kept up with the rules. I don’t use mine now as the horse has been good through her eyes. I have enclosed the BE rules. Just looked and I am surprised about BRC allowing it for xc as in my mind it shouldn’t be allowed in case it slips or moves. Showjumping at least is managed and in a smaller space and fences fall down.
