Just wondered if any of you with headshakers have noticed the snow affecting them. I've not noticed it with my boy, but I know it has been reported that the sensation of the snow hitting their noses can set them off, anyone experienced this???

My horse is not a headshaker (thank goodness) but I cannot ride him if its snowing as he does behave like one then!! No issues in rain, just snow! Not sure if it just irritates his nose when the flakes land on it?

My headshaker been stuck on boxrest for past 3 weeks with abscess in his hoof :-(
However i did let him have a play in the school this morning whilst i mucked out. He was going NUTS. Charging round, rearing, bucking, farting etc etc got himself out of breath - which is normally when he starts headshaking - but he wasn't at all .......

The horse I ride is not a headshaker but does seem too when it is snowing and also when it is raining horizontally! With him the tickly/sensitive bits are his ears!

hiya!

yes Jack is a head shaker! he experiences problems with falling snow, rain and sunlight, as well as the normal pollen!
