One of my horses is believed to have a mild tree pollen allergy - he headshakes when under trees in the spring/summer but not at any other time. He wears a nose net to hack out but my vet said it wouldnt do any harm to put him on a headshaking supplement to help...

Can anyone recommand anything? I have heard good things about Equine Americas Shaker Guard...?

Thanks!

I have just bought Shake no More from Hilton Herbs.
Too early to give any feedback, but if you're interested, I'll let you know how we get on!

Have tried most supplements and they make little to no difference to my guys pollen based head shaking. Nose nets while riding and full face and nose mask in field is all that helps.

I had a headshaker who got progressively worse over the years. We tried numerous supplements, but the only thing that helped was a full facial net and a nose net, or fly fringes over the browband AND noseband. Have a look at Lincoln University website - I think they have an ongoing study and may have more information.

Try spraying two squirts of Beconase (for hayfever in humans) into each nostril twice a day.
My girl is allergic to oilseed rape pollens and headshakes for about 6 weeks in the spring....but Beconase helps her...and was what my vet suggested.
