Yes I know about it and my mare is head shy which I know is not the same but I want an uncomplicated horse this time.

What is it actually like to own a head shaker, apparently he doesn't do it when he wears a mask. It is very hard to find an ID gelding which I have a good feel about, every time I search his picture comes up. My mare has got ridiculous now spooking and once I sell my sports horse now she is out of rehab.

This gelding is 16hh I really wanted 16.1hh due to height and weight, though my late mare was 16hh, he is also coloured and never gone for coloureds. He just keeps coming up in my searches so thought I would ask here what t is like to actually own one with this condition. Is it a problem which gets worst or effects the riding side or what?

thanx

Its soul destroying. Its really unfair, Its heart breakingly annoying and sad and its a complete pita.
It usually gets progressivly worse. There is no actual treatment.

I have also seen this advert on several occasions on different sites and my instructor actually sent me his details this week. He was advertised on one site without the headshaking being mentioned, although it is on the Horsequest ad. When I sent her the full ad she agreed he wouldn't be suitable. He is exactly the size, stamp and age I want and isn't actually that far from me, and I like coloured horses, but I don't want to take on a headshaker. My instructor is generally of the view that if an issue is significant enough to mention in an advert it is probably more of an issue than described. I appreciate that like many things if it is an issue that develops while you own the horse you manage it the best you can, but I wouldn't knowingly take on a headshaker.
