boy what a day i've had i've been looking after my friends horse Romeo while she has been on holiday and she is back today after 2 weeks so guess what!? this morning he got caught in a fence and cut his leg its really bad sliced right on the inside of leg slicing right down into his heal its had stitches but will take a long time to heal. hes such a lovely horse its a real shame please can i get some healing vibes for this poor boy.
 
Isnt it called 'sods law'? Lots of (((((((((((healing vibes)))))))))))))) on the way. Mairi.

Mine did that to her hock it took about a month to heal. The stitches may break down (mine did), but it will heal. if you can keep it bandaged that will help to keep the swelling down.
 
thanks guys.its horrible aint it unfortunatley i think this one gonna take a good bit longer than a month he is lucky not to have cut his heal clean off. vets not sure the stitches will hold been left without bandage tonight but geting a bandage tomorrow not sure why but its on vets instructions
 
Hi Claire22, how did his mum take the news and how is he today.I expect hes stiffened up a bit and is feeling sorry for himself

hey his mum was a bit upset and there were a few tears which is understandable but she is ok. stitches have held well and a lot of the swelling has gone down he is still very sore on it and has been lying down but hes a lot more himself today having a gurn here and there as usual hes a lot brighter, after looking round the field last night its obvious he lost a lot of blood. vets back out this afternoon to check everything and put a bandage on it but things are looking good for now.
