Healing Vibes Urgently Needed for Jessie please

Massive hugs for you S! I am glad Jessie is doing ok!

Is there anywhere you could move them on an emergancy if you feel someone is doing this on purpose? :(

Fingers crossed the others are all ok x

thank you..:) so am I (so far ..don't want to tempt fate!)

I've spoken to a cople of people who are helping me look and a few suggestions to look at.. if i kept the two mares together, the boys can each go somewhere else..I'll just be UBER busy & never ever sleep!:D

thank you re others too..Will update when back..I just remembered I need feeding aswell!:eek:xx

My vet once told me that short wet grass can ferment in the stomach causing colic like symptoms, so I wonder if that could explain the fit horses coming in a bit sore? So pleased to hear that Jessie is doing well, I think I;d be considering cctv or something to see how the plants ate getting there.

Good news about Jessie, but extremely worrying about the plants. It sounds as though someone is deliberately trying to poison the horses to me. Either that or a well meaning but ignorant person going up and feeding them unsuitable stuff. Are there other liveries around? could you organise some kind of rota to keep watch?

I have been following your post. Do u have an update on Jessie??

HI, sorry, I've been rubbish..I'm running on caffeine & custard creams at the mo..

Much perkier thank you!I'm keeping everything crossed that she's still going the right way and is now on 4 hourly feeds round the clockwith hay 2 hourly during day(..I'm shattered & look like a troll-minus the bridge!) She really perked up today & has been attacking her hay..still only on a bucket of soaked then steamed(to take chill off) at a time & fed in doubled haylage net..and going out in day..naked yesterday & today!!She did scare me this afternoon ..it was so sunny that she went to sleep stood up in the arena..and kept doing a massive nod/jump thing ..after much covert stalking I realised she was just chilling & enjoying the sun..hopefully that was what made her dozey!Still not as many poos as I would like, but shes at least making them ever so slightly bigger..(or the rogue shetland phantom pooper has stopped swapping their droppings!) I'm holding off worming her for a couple of days maybe longer..and quite upset that i could have made this last longer than it needed because the first vet told me not to stop feed/hay/grass when i specifically asked ..this could have killed her:-( Just off to do another check now so hoping for more poos..I'd love to see two or three...:D

The other horses seem to have settled back to normal without running me any more ragged with any turns for the worst..fingers crossed it stays that way..had enough colic for a life time!

Any suggestions from those with colic prone horses esp veterans, as to supplements or feed types, I'm interested to hear what your system is..:)

Great news on progress, really really hope it continues!!!

Re colic prone oldies, mine is fed on a combination of Dengie Healthy Hooves (not so much for hooves but he seems to find it more consistently appetising than most things - it is moister and nuttier than happy hoof so def get healthy hooves), spillers horse and pony nuts, Fast Fibre with pink powder and vitamin and mineral supplement. Plus ad lib good hay plus oat straw to pick at and carrots and apples.

He has the HH and pony nuts in the morning and in the afternoon and in the evening he has the same but made up as a mash with a large scoop of very sloppily made up Fast Fibre, made up with hot water (he doesn't drink enough so this really helps).

This combo has proved more effective at keeping him eating consistently and well.

Hope this helps a bit!

Thank you all..:) Very excited about my poo update!

6pm to midnight last night TWO!
midnight to 6am today TWO!
One at 8am
One just before I left them at 11!

Here's to Poo & plenty more of it too!!!:D

She really seems the happiest since this started on friday & is out basking in the sun again..commando ofcourse!

She had a smile on her face and was nodding with her face held up to the sun & her bottom lip drooping & her coat was just beautifully toasty! Was so lovely to see her so happy & of course to see the sun! Took some lovely pics of her..almost enough to crash my mac..but very happy that I could!:D

:) Yay!!! So happy to hear that... so good to hear a good outcome particularly as there have been some awfully tragic cases on HHO recently!!! Brilliant news!!! xx

Thank you, yes I'm thrilled to bits about her being so obliging..looks like she's had quite a busy afternoon! Did have a couple of rolls in the day, on top of her morning 'just turned out' roll..(judging by the muddy zebra look!) but she still seems to be thinking positively too..and so positively in fact that she, the very same Jessie who could not possibly dream of damaging a haylage net EVER as she is FAAAAAAR too ladylike...has attacked her net with such vigour that the hole she chewed thru the double netted haylage net (which she was happily emptying easily...) now has a 'double door' feature to help me needing to open or until the net....hmmmm..hoping that quick scoff won't have any adverse effects..
I am very glad to have a re designed hayla-g-string net!:D

Sharing happy sunny bright sunshiney warmth with everyone (weather please note, it would be nice if you did the same too..its looking a lot different now..but lovely to have had two gloriously sunny days!:) :):D:):D
