Healthiest nicest chaff?

If the straw is processed as above would there likely to be anything about it on the feed bag or manufacturers site?

They wouldn't have to list sodium hydroxide as an ingredient as it is not present in the final product, just part of the process. However you will sometimes see Nutritionally Improved Straw or NIS in the ingredients which means it has been treated.

Haven't read through replies so not sure if anyone has recommended this but I feed Dengie Good Doer.

•Hi-Fi Good Do-er is a blend of alfalfa and quality soft straw, lightly coated with molasses and spearmint oil
•Hi-Fi Good Do-er is an easy to feed, high-fibre feed containing nutrients that those on restricted grass and forage intake might be missing out on
•Ideal for overweight horses and ponies or those that maintain their weight easily
•Includes natural spearmint oil to tempt fussy eaters
•Hi-Fi Good Do-er can be used as a total or partial hay replacer – simply replace the weight of hay with the same weight of Hi-Fi Good Do-er or feed ad-lib

Does it have to be a chaff? I've become a huge fan of Agrobs Wiesenflakes which are like chopped up hay nuggets and feed those to my super-reactive money pit
