my boy is currently going through remedial shoeing, at the moment he has wedges and packing in his shoes but that will be removed eventually but the vet said its more than likely that he will have to stick with the heart bar shoeing to give him maximum support on his heels.
does anyone know if you can still show with these or are they seen as "bad conformation"? or are they frowned upon or anything like that, the vet has said he will be back in normal full time work once he has had all his treatment and we have started increasing his work load now but just want to know what i can work towards, all help gratefully appreciated x

My mare did well in WH classes with them - to be honest after the show I went to yesterday I wouldn't worry, I have never seen so many horses with caped hocks & cow hocks in one place!

My old show hack had to have these for a short while. They were a bit on the clumpy side and didnt exactly help her to 'float' but I didnt have any comments from judges.

well i must admit that my boys conf is not perfect but he's certainly not cow hacked lol x he has a few old lumps and bumps but they are from hunting before i bought him and im looking to do wh with him so fingers crossed !! thanks x

yes they are rather clumpy but hes a big lad and doesnt seem to be coping to bad with them at the min even with wedges and rubber packing !!x
