Has anyone had experience of Heartbeat Rest Home in Suffolk? We have an old pony which we are struggling to find a loan home for due to him being quite sharp to ride and an old check ligament injury limiting him to just hacking. We obviously want the best thing for him and were wondering if this would be a suitable option?

Thank you

Have you contacted them to ask if they have space? A lot of charities are already full after this hard winter. Are you planning to pay for his upkeep once he's there?
I'm sure you can guess what I'm going to say here. I don't think you should expect a charity to take on your oldie, unless you are going to pay his keep. It's very hard for equine rescue charities to raise funds these days, so surely that money should be spent on true rescues?
I already have one completely retired horse that can't be ridden of my own by the way, and I pay for her to be kept in a safe retirement home.

We contacted them and they will hopefully shortly have a space. I'm not fully sure how the finances of it work but I would certainly expect that we will have to pay for their services. I would never want to burden a charity in any way. We were just hoping that someone had an experience of them? Or any experiences of retirement livery in East Anglia?
