One of my horses best friends was PTS today :0(

She was kicked in the field and broke her leg.

I was with her and her owners when she went and I think the shock of it all is only starting to kick in now.

Afterwards I just kept thinking how I would feel if it was my horse and I honestly think it would destroy me. I feel devastated for them.

She was such a sweet pony too, taught their children to ride and was so happy and full of life.

RIP Polly pocket xxx
 
Oh I am so sorry to hear this.
Nothing I can say will ease your mind and comfort you. It's been a very sad and upsetting day for you all.

Oh dear I'm so sorry. How sad :( rip Polly Pocket. I always thought it would destroy me too but you find the strength somewhere. Thoughts to you and her owners, it will be kicking in for them too :( more hugs x
 
Thanks everyone!! Wasn't even my horse and I'm in bits.

Was coping ok earlier, think auto pilot must of kicked in at the time
 
It does hun , been there when it was someone elses & for my own, both field accidents and both devestating.
You will relive it many times and you will cope but by god it can be hard.
Your friends will have appreciated your help and being there today, take some comfort in that xxxx
 
Oh poor you, and poor Polly Pocket and her owners. :( Be proud that you are a good friend and helped them through, but do allow yourself to cry and grieve too.

It will have been quick for her, she's at peace now. (((hugs)))

My horses best friend was PTS last Monday after breaking his leg too... Java is lost Without him... Java and him really were attached at the hip
 
I'm so sorry for your and their loss. It's always devastating when a perfectly healthy horse does something awful in the field. Happened on our yard last year. Thinking of you all. Rip Polly Pocket.
