Heartbreaking loss-my lovely rescue pony dies from acute grass sickness

So sorry for your loss. I lost my lovely 5 year old boy to GS two years ago. I'd never even heard of it and it was so sudden, with my lad it was less than 12 hours between calling vet, and pts. While it's so hard for you, he will now be beyond all pain, sadness and fear.
RIP Vinnie.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I too know what this cruel disease can do - I lost my first horse two months ago to EGS. I'd had him 10 months and in that time he managed to take a strangle hold of my heart. He was only 9. There's not a day goes by that I don't miss him. Please rest assured that there was nothing you or your vets could've done but quickly and quietly end the pain.

All we can do is smile at the memories and raise funds into research and vaccination so that no one else goes through this heartache.

My thoughts are with you. Time helps. Eventually.

I am so sorry. GS is such a cruel thing. And such a young little thing too. Absolutely heartbreaking for you. At least he knew love and care finally in his short life, and had people around him who loved him. Big, big (((hugs))) for you. RIP little chap xx

I would just like to thank everyone who took the time to post on this thread. I have found incredible comfort from the responses though saddened to read of other 's experiences of this most cruel condition. The SSPCA saved Vinnie from the meat trade then he comes to me and dies of grass sickness. Dear Vinnie you deserved so much better.
