I have some REALLY heartbreaking news

Vet was back to Micah yesterday and he is lame on 3 legs, including the one he had surgery on
After a long and very difficult consultation, considering all the options Vets advice is to PTS

As he has spent so much time on restricted turnout and being away for rehab I have decided to bute him, turn him out during the day and generally give him a few weeks of TLC before I say goodbye to my very special lad

As you can all imagine I am devastated Micah is only just 9 and he should have been my horse of a lifetime both for his temperament and his talent.

O soulfull. I am so very, very sorry to hear this :( What an absolutely horrible decision to have to make. My heart goes out to you.

That is really sad news, I'm really sorry.

I would give him as long as you can turned out if its not hurting him terribly. It was the old fashioned way of getting their legs back before xrays and scans etc. If you've made the decision anyway it won't change anything...

Hugs to you.xx

so sorry:(

enjoy your last few weeks together and stuff as many carrots and treats into him as possible:o lots of love so he feels thoroughly pampered:)

I am so, so sorry. I do hope you are able to keep him comfortable enough for him to enjoy some time chilling in the field. Utterly devastating news.

Very sorry. Not a lot that can be said which can offer comfort, except to maybe remember there are a lot of us who have been through the same thing. We might not be able to help but we do know what you are going through.

I feel for you and sending you many hugs. It is lovely that you have decided to give yourselves some quality time as I did that my first horse. It is hard though doing this as mentally counting down the time made me overwrought with emotion at times... be strong and I hope you enjoy your time together. I know emotionally that it wasn't the best thing for me but my horse had fantastic last few weeks.

So very sorry to read this Soulfull :( I'm another one extending hugs to you at this sad time.

Enjoy your time with Micah, take lots of pictures of you together and I hope he enjoys all the attention :) you love him and you are doing your best by him, thinking of you both XX

Very sorry for your bad news... spoil him like crazy over the next few weeks.
I lost my old boy (from colic) back in February. The day before i spent ages spoiling him - brushing, treats etc (without knowing the next day would be his last) and i'd hate myself if i hadnt! Also take some mane or tail, it so nice having Bob's now hanging with a collage of his pics in my room or have a bracelet made with it, he will always be with you. x

I'm very sorry about Micah :(

Enjoy your last couple of weeks with him and spoil him rotten. Make sure someone looks after you too. I'm sure he's a very lucky boy to have had you to look after him.

I'll be thinking of you.

xxx
