Oh, how horrible! I haven't seen your post - what's caused his lameness? Enjoy your time with him. I can't say I've ever been in a similar position, not with a horse anyway but I knowhow you must be feeling.

he has degenerative suspensory ligament recently re labelled Equine Systemic Proteoglycan Accumulation because they have found out it is systemic and affects the whole body including the heart and not just the suspensory ligaments as first thought

we seem to have caught it in the fairly early stages but there is still no cure. However it does seem to be progressing fast so I don't know how long I will have with him
