The love of my life and favoritist pony of all time will be saying goodbye to the world next monday, I learnt to ride on her 19 years ago and had my very first serious fall off of her too, she spooked and i fell of and cracked my head open on the fence of the school. She is 34 years old and in her life has taught hundreds of kids to ride, and jump. a few winters ago we thought it was the end when she caught tangled in her rug overnight and couldn't get up, I found her in the morning and raised the alarm, we had one of those tin foil emegengy blankets on her and all the fan heaters we could find, i (and others) then sat all day with her trying to encourage her to get up i dont think i have ever cried so much in my life, but she pulled through and a week later you would never have known anything had happened to her, she is a right old battle axe, I'm sure she can read numbers as when jumping courses with little tots on board she just got on with it despite what they may have been doing in the saddle. She has belonged to the owners of my old yard for 25 years, has always been terrified of traffic and quite partial to the odd child for lunch. I will miss her forever, saturday i'm spending the day with her so I can say goodbye. I will always love you Squeaky!!
