It looks like our darling little chihuahua x has been stolen :( we are just devastated. Bare with me on the background I just have to let this all out.....

My dad had been ill for a while and last July he had to have his lurcher companion of 17yrs put down, this left him and mum with their lovely little rescue cavi, in October they decided to rescue an ex puppy farm bitch, very nervous needed lots of TLC. I drove mum to Wales to collect her, they were so happy. That evening we were told my dad had terminal cancer... About a year

But the new girl bonded really well with their little Cavi, and we all started to enjoy the time we have together.

In jan my mum came downstairs to find her little Cavi in a pool of blood, she had picked up a toxin in the wet weather & died that day. Her new dog was traumatised she howled day & night. So I rang the rescue that we had got her from to see if they had a dog that she had bonded with, they did a little fireball of a dog. Mollie was immediately happier, and although it didn't make losing our little Cavi any less devastating it did mean we could all just get on with grieving for her.

The little chihuahua was a god send, she would sit on my dad's knee keeping him company while mum popped out, and dad said he felt happy that when he goes mum will have her girls to keep her company :)

Well yesterday mum took her girls for their usual trot on the lawn, before putting the chi on a lead to continue her walk around the farm, she turned around and she was gone....

We have looked everywhere registered with dog lost, dog warden, microchip etc, put posters everywhere, someone said they saw a bloke with her yesterday.

I just can't believe it we are all just numb... Sorry just had to vent somewhere x

Don't give up. Get as much publicity as you can, put posters every where and try and get local press and radio involved. If someone has stolen her they will quite likely decide she has become "too hot to handle", and dump her.

Yep, get the social media machine going. Look how much coverage tictoc got so get as many pics as pos out and get her shared on as many face book groups you can find.
Really sorry and hope she turns up safe and well and soon

Hi, thanks for the replies and suggestions, she is on Facebook, and over 80 retweets on twitter, my sister is doing a local press release next week... just feel so sad really my mum is in bits, she's a strong woman but this is really struggling....

Agree, get her on Doglost, any chi groups on Facebook, petforums, etc. there's a huge movement today on a springer group to find the owners of a found little girl so get mobilising the social networks. Sincerely hope you find her soon. X

Please please get social media involved and your local newspaper, I had a puppy stolen a few years ago and we got her back because of the fuss we kicked up. Good luck, its horrible xx

Also check all the local dog pounds or RSPCA / or dogs trust in case she has been taken there. Fingers crossed for her safe return.

Also check under any covered water- a missing staff was found under a pool cover not so long ago down holes between hay bales and the like

Just came on to say yes she's home.... It was an anonymous phone call, instructions to various locations, and finally to a lay-by..she was left for us tied to a tree.... I have an idea what happened, and social media certainly helped :) my parents still can't believe she's home.

Thanks for all your suggestions we really did kick up a fuss! X
